Lymphatic Drainage……
Detoxifying the body
Sometimes our body just needs a helping hand to get rid of excess fluid and toxins…..
The Lymphatic system is our front line of defence in fighting bodily infections; it is constantly cleansing the body by removing excess fluid and waste products from around the tissue cells, this helps promote a good healthy balanced body.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage can help those who suffer with
oedema (swelling), sports injury, experiencing a sluggish immune system or just a lack of energy. Many people have regular MLD to assist the cleansing of toxins from their body.
Performing MLD correctly can increase the volume of
lymph flow by as much as 20 times. It stimulates the opening of the initial lymphatic which assists the flow; this is very gentle on the body, while it relaxes the nervous system and aids the body's immune system.
BENEFITS OF MLD
• Decreases oedema (swelling)
• Enhances the action of the immune system
• Reduces pain
• Improves skin health
• Promotes deep relaxation
• Speeds healing of injuries
• Decreases scar tissue
• Minimizes scar formation
When to have a Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM):
• Lymph oedema or Detoxification
• Post-mastectomy oedema
• Pre and Post Surgery
• Inflammatory conditions such as sprains, strains, and muscle tears
When NOT to have Lymphatic Drainage Massage (LDM):
• Congestive Heart Failure
• Serious circulatory problems
• During acute infections and inflamed illnesses
• Untreated, malignant tumours

Myofascial Release...
Relieves Restrictions
Myo = muscle Fascial = fascia. The release is in the stretch.
Fascia is the substance that surrounds almost every structure in our body, it can often restrict movement and tighten the muscles, causing us pain and suffering.
This type of treatment is an excellent tool to help free these restrictions, increase your range of movement and speed healing; it is easily integrated within your treatment.
Trigger Point Therapy /Positional Release....
.
Triggers points are areas of tenderness in a muscle
There are two basic types of trigger points: active and latent.
Active trigger points cause muscular pain and will refer pain and tenderness to another area of the body when pressure is applied.
Latent trigger points only exhibit pain when compressed; they do not refer pain to other areas of the body. Latent trigger points are believed to be one of the causes of stiff joints and restricted range of motion.
The pain caused by trigger points may be one of the biggest reason for loss of time in the workplace, and the relief is only a phone call away.
How do you relieve it?
Pressure is applied to these points, relieving pain and increasing range of motion.

A Reiki treatment is given by laying the hands on the receiver and allowing the healing energy to flow; the client may experience a warm, cold or a tingling sensation during their treatment. Hands are placed over the body and held for up to 5 minutes in each position; old wounds and emotional blockage can surface and release. These treatments are often so relaxing that the client will drift into a light sleep, feeling re-energised, revitalised, rejuvenated and refreshed. Toxins are released during a treatment and can be flushed from the body by drinking lots of water.
